Adware Alert Spyware Remover - Full Review
Well things are going well here at SpywareVirusRemovers.com and we were just sent another spyware removal program to review. Adware Alert is actually a spyware/adware remover, so don't let the name of Adware Alert fool you - it will find more than just adware.
The initial look of the program shows me that it is one of the more basic spyare removers out there. It has the basic scan, update, and quarantine features; but it lacks any in-depth options such as immunization or any ongoing protection of any sort. However, sometimes looks can be deceiving; so I went ahead and started to scan the entire test PC.
The results of the scan were decent - Adware Alert detected 800 malicious files on the computer, after a scan of about 15 minutes. This is a bit below par when compared to XoftSpySE or NoAdware (both returned over 1,000 results), but it is definitely enough for the casual PC user that doesn't want to mess with any complicated features. That's what this program is really geared towards - anyone who wants a simple Spyware remover, at a good cost, with all of the essential features one might need to delete spyware on his or her computer. So while it does scan the computer relatively effectively for Spyware and Adware, I wouldn't count on it to do much else.
The ease of use of the program was great, with the scan and update buttons both in prominent positions. This is a program you could show to your computer illiterate grandmother, and get her to clean the spyware off of her computer all by herself. If you are looking for power or a variety of options and functions, you would do better to look at NoAdware or XoftSpySE. But if you are looking for a simple program to get your computer running faster at a great price, then I would recommend Adware Alert. Best of all, they offer a free scan below! Overall grade: B- (due to lack of features)
