XoftSpySE Spyware Remover - Full Review
We were recently sent a copy of XoftSpySE to review; and our initial opinion of the program was definitely positive. Right off the bat, it is easy to see that the program is intuitive, easy to use, and powerful (due to the number of options provided by the software). Created by ParetoLogic Inc, this spyware removal program not only protects against and removes spyware; but it is also effective against Adware, browser hijacks and trojan viruses.
As usual with most spyware removal programs, the main feature provided is the "Scan" button. Clicking on this sets the program into motion; and depending on your computer's speed, you can be relatively spyware free in less than 10 minutes. I say relatively spyware free because there is always a few pesty spyware programs that seem to hang around no matter what program you are using; and this program is no different. XoftSpySE is definitely powerful (it detected over 1,200 items; more than Adaware or Spybot S&D were able to detect on my system), and provides both quarantine and deletion options when getting rid of the detected files. I recommend you use the program's update feature regularly, as to keep on top of the current threats in the spyware world (at the time of this writing, XoftSpySE was releasing new definitions every 3 days or so). It is this dedication to keeping the software up-to-date that attracts me to the program; and while I am pretty set on NoAdware on my system; I wouldn't hesitate to use this program as a replacement (I've actually started to use it every other week or so, just to clean up anything that NoAdware might have missed).
Overall I was very satisfied with the program's performance, even suprisingly so. I would recommend this program to anyone that does not have a removal program yet, or to anyone whose computer is still running slowly with their current spyware remover. XoftSpySE offers a scheduling feature as well, so you can simply "set and forget," as long as you remember to update the software every week or so. The only downside of this program that I could see would be that it does not support archive scanning - a chink in its pretty tough armor. So if you use this program, you might want to consider using it in conjunction with another spyware remover, just to make sure you catch everything. Overall grade? A-
